The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Walkthrough — Episodes 1, 2, and 3 Decay

Room by room, item by item, choice by choice — every puzzle, decision, and route split across Episodes 1–3.

This is the full The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough, covering every step of Episodes 1 through 3 on the Decay route. It goes room by room, item by item, choice by choice — exactly what to pick up, where to go, and which decisions lock you into which path. No other The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough traces the full trigger chain from the basement trust decision all the way to the Shots and Such random draw.

This walkthrough follows the Decay branch because that is where most of the game lives. The Burial branch gets its own Burial Route guide, linked at the trust decision below. If you are stuck on a specific ending instead of a specific room, start with the endings guide.

Before you start: save at every major fork marked 💾 below. Four focused playthroughs from two checkpoint saves will cover every ending in The Coffin of Andy and Leyley.

Episode 1 — The Apartment

Episode 1 is the tutorial chapter — escape the basement, unlock the apartment, and set up the dynamic that the rest of the game runs on. This The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough starts here because the earliest choices echo into the endings.

The Basement

  1. Interact with the guard outside the door. He will not let you out.
  2. Pick up the cleaver from the kitchen counter on the right.
  3. Use the cleaver on the guard. He dies in one hit.
  4. Loot his body for the key, then unlock the door.
  5. Head upstairs. Ashley is waiting in the main room — interact with her to finish the scene.

The Apartment

  1. In the main room, interact with the TV, the couch, and the kitchen counter for flavor dialogue.
  2. Head to the bedroom on the left. Interact with the bed to sleep and advance to the next day.
  3. The next morning, interact with Ashley in the kitchen. She asks you to go shopping.
  4. Leave the apartment via the front door.

The Store

  1. Enter the store and interact with the clerk behind the counter.
  2. Take the bread, milk, and cigarettes from the shelves — one of each.
  3. Bring the items to the counter. The clerk rings you up.
  4. Return to the apartment. Interact with Ashley to give her the groceries.

The Balcony

  1. After the grocery scene, Ashley heads to the balcony. Follow her out.
  2. She asks about the guard. Answer however you like — this dialogue has no mechanical effect.
  3. Episode 1 ends when the conversation finishes.

Episode 2 — The Flashback and the Shared Dream

Episode 2 is where The Coffin of Andy and Leyley gets serious. It holds the game's most important save point and the flashback that determines which endings you can reach. This The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough spells out both critical saves so you never have to replay the entire episode.

The Flashback — Nina

This flashback is a playable memory from childhood. Andrew is a teenager, and his friend Nina is trapped inside a wooden crate.

  1. Interact with Nina through the slats of the crate. She begs to be let out.
  2. Interact with the rope holding the crate lid shut. It will not budge.
  3. Pick up the BB gun leaning against the shed wall on the left.
  4. Aim the gun at the rope. The game offers a choice:
    • "Shoot" — fires one shot. This is what you want.
    • "SHOOT!!!" — fires multiple shots. This locks you out of Shots and Such.
  5. The rope snaps, the lid opens, and Nina falls out — dead. The flashback cuts to black.

💾 Save here. This is the second of two critical saves (the first is coming up in a few minutes). If you fired one shot only and want Shots and Such later, keep this save file and never overwrite it.

Back in the Apartment

  1. After the flashback, Ashley and Andrew are back in the apartment. Interact with her in the kitchen.
  2. A hitman arrives at the door. The game offers a choice:
    • "shoot" (lowercase) — fires one shot and the hitman retreats.
    • "SHOOT!!!" — fires wildly. This also locks Shots and Such.
  3. Choose lowercase "shoot." Then head out the front door.

The Basement — Trust Decision

The two return to the basement where their parents are locked up. Ashley hands Andrew a trinket and asks if she can trust him. She then steps out of the room, leaving him alone with their parents.

💾 This is the single most important save in the entire game. Save here and never overwrite it.

When Ashley returns, she asks what happened. The parents offer an olive branch — and what Andrew does with it is the point of no return.

This walkthrough follows the Decay Route. If you want the Burial branch, the Burial Route guide picks up from this exact moment.

The Park

On the Decay Route, the two head to a park after the basement.

  1. Walk through the park screens. Interact with the bench, the fountain, and the tree for dialogue.
  2. The hitman from earlier reappears. If you chose lowercase "shoot" at the apartment door, he is wounded and less aggressive.
  3. Either way, the hitman is dealt with off-screen. Continue through the park.

The Shared Dream

The two hold the trinket and fall asleep together. They enter a shared dream — a black void with three pedestals and two doors.

  1. Approach the pedestals. Three items appear: Sunshine, Broken Heart, and Heart.
  2. Place the items on the three pedestals in one of two orders:
DoorLeft pedestalCenter pedestalRight pedestal
Right doorSunshineBroken HeartHeart
Left doorHeartSunshineBroken Heart
  1. The door opens. Walk through.
  2. Inside, Ashley sees a vision. On the right-door path, she watches herself harvesting souls and lets a Grime Soul go. On the left-door path, she sees a disturbing vision of what she and her brother could become.
  3. The dream ends. The two wake up.

The Morning After — Car Ride

  1. In the apartment the next morning, interact with Andrew.
  2. The two get in the car and drive. During the ride, the game asks who he really is.

This fork is the core of Episode 3:

ChoiceWhat happens
"Andy"Leyley Wins — the game ends almost immediately.
"Andrew"Opens the full Episode 3 Decay route — five more endings.

This walkthrough continues with "Andrew." If you want Leyley Wins, pick "Andy" and the game is over in under a minute.

Episode 3 — The Forest, The Chase, and Six Endings

Episode 3 is the largest chapter in The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. It spans a forest escape, a police interrogation, and the six Decay endings. This The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough covers every fork in order so you can track exactly where a run is heading.

The Gas Stop

  1. The car pulls into a gas station. Head inside.
  2. Interact with the two middle shelves — take everything off them.
  3. Check the newspaper by the door.
  4. Bring the items to the clerk at the counter.
  5. The clerk mentions a bathroom. Head to it.
  6. While inside, a police car pulls up outside. Knock on the bathroom door to hurry Leyley.
  7. Browse the magazine rack near the door while waiting.
  8. When an officer questions you, pick whichever lie you prefer — all options pass.
  9. Head into the woods via the top-right path.

The Forest — Screens 1 Through 4

The forest is a sequence of four screens with push-block puzzles.

Screen 1:

  1. Push the loose rock on the right to clear the path forward.
  2. Continue right to the next screen.

Screen 2:

  1. Push the rock on the left to open the upper path.
  2. Take the upper path — it leads to a star collectible on the next screen.
  3. Continue right.

Screen 3:

  1. Two paths branch here: the upper path and the lower path with footprints.
  2. Take the upper path. Do not take the path with footprints.
  3. On the upper path, pick up the engagement ring on the ground. This item is required for Shots and Such.
  4. Push rocks as needed and continue right.

Screen 4:

  1. Push the final rocks to reach a clearing with a portal.
  2. Enter the portal immediately — or wait. If you wait five or more seconds, the police arrive and shoot both of you. This triggers The Happy Ending.
  3. Enter the portal to continue.

The Chase

Through the portal, Ashley runs and Andrew follows. This is a chase sequence.

  1. Control Ashley. Run through the screens, avoiding her brother.
  2. If he catches you: Andrew Wins at Tag — he kills Ashley with a meat cleaver, then kills himself.
  3. To continue past this fork, do not get caught. Keep running until the chase ends.

The Police Interrogation

After the chase, the two are picked up by the police and interrogated separately.

  1. You control Ashley during the interrogation.
  2. The officer asks a series of questions about the deaths connected to the two of you.
  3. Answer consistently and calmly. The safest answers:
    • The guard in Episode 1: "He attacked first."
    • The parents in the basement: "They starved. We brought food when we could."
    • Nina in the flashback: "It was an accident. We were kids."
  4. If the interrogation is passed, the two are released.
  5. If the interrogation is failed, Ashley draws a gun, misses, and both are arrested and sentenced to death. This triggers Graves in Graves.

Back at the Apartment — The Ring Decision

If you passed the interrogation, the two return to the apartment.

  1. Ashley finds the engagement ring from the forest in her pocket.
  2. The game offers a choice:
    • Throw the ring away → triggers Deadest of Dead Ends. The two spiral into depression and jump from a rooftop together.
    • Keep the ring → continues to the finale.

The Finale — Shots and Such

If you kept the ring, you reach the final scene. Andrew draws randomly from three items in his pocket. If the ring is among them and he draws it:

  1. He proposes — not romantically, but as a survival pact.
  2. The ending text describes their new life: he becomes a butcher, she continues feeding souls to the entity, she is pregnant and plans to abort, and the final line is "never happy, never ever."
  3. This is Shots and Such — the most complex ending in the game and the one this The Coffin of Andy and Leyley walkthrough is built to reach.

If the ring is not drawn, you get a generic survival scene. Reload the save right before the draw and try again — the outcome is random.
